In the Hindu mythology Lord Ganapathy or Lord Ganesha eradicates all difficulties faced by an individual. Ganapathy is always worshipped before starting any Pooja or Homam. According to legend, performing Ganapathy Homam at least once in a year will give prosperity, health, wealth and peace of mind. Ganapathy Homam should be performed on all possible auspicious occasions be it starting a new project or even your birthday.
Here in Hyderabad you can see Ganesh Idol on every corner of the street. Loud music and drums are blaring everywhere.
The procession of taking the Ganesh Idol to the lake will be a Big thing again. Last year, i couldn't even go home, so had to sleep over at a friend's place. Seems as if the whole city has Ganesh idols!!!
This year Ganesh idols are gonna be immersed in the Tank Bund lake by Tuesday (25 September 2007). Readers are advised not to go throuh the Hussein Sagar side if you're not particularly going for the festival. Because the traffic Jam will not be so smooth.
