Ganapathy Homam Happenning Big in Hyderabad

In the Hindu mythology Lord Ganapathy or Lord Ganesha eradicates all difficulties faced by an individual. Ganapathy is always worshipped before starting any Pooja or Homam.

According to legend, performing Ganapathy Homam at least once in a year will give prosperity, health, wealth and peace of mind. Ganapathy Homam should be performed on all possible auspicious occasions be it starting a new project or even your birthday.

Here in Hyderabad you can see Ganesh Idol on every corner of the street. Loud music and drums are blaring everywhere.

The procession of taking the Ganesh Idol to the lake will be a Big thing again. Last year, i couldn't even go home, so had to sleep over at a friend's place. Seems as if the whole city has Ganesh idols!!!

This year Ganesh idols are gonna be immersed in the Tank Bund lake by Tuesday (25 September 2007). Readers are advised not to go throuh the Hussein Sagar side if you're not particularly going for the festival. Because the traffic Jam will not be so smooth.

Flyover collapse in Hyderbad!!!

9 September 2007: At least 10 people were killed and more than 15 people injured when a fly-over under construction collapse today evening.

Vehicles were crushed under the collapsed portion of the flyover. Some pedestrians, who were standing under the flyover to protect themselves from rains, were also feared trapped, according to eyewitnesses. The mishap occurred in the busy Nagarjuna Circle area in the heart of the Andhra Pradesh capital amid heavy rains.

Rescue operations are underway. Ambulances were rushed to the spot and at least 15 injured were shifted to the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).

This incident happened a few weeks after the twin bomb blast in the city, feared to be the handy work of terrorists. Hyderabad seems to be in the news for all the wrong reasons.

Bombs and MORE bombs in Hyderabad

25 August 2007: Two very powerful bomb blasts hit the city of Nizams late evening at the Famous Lumbini park around 7.45 pm and another at the Gokul Chat eatery around the same time. We don't know for sure, who are responsible for the bombings. The Chief Minister's office have condemned the bombings and govt officials confirmed that this is the hand of terrorist groups. Police investigative teams claim that RDX were used in the bombings.

At least 36 to 40 people have lost their lives in the incident and around 70 people were injured. The incident came just after the bombing of the Famous Mecca Masjid on 18 May 2007 here in the City.

Police speculation say that a couple of the RDX chemicals presumably used by the terrorists are still out there. Investigations also claim that there were two explosives found in public places which didn't go off.

My Mizo friends in Hyderabad are confirmed to be safe from harm. Though some did plan to go to Lumbini park in the same evening, but dropped the idea due to the weather.

26 August 2007: The police have found 19 unexploded bombs in Hyderabad a day after at least 40 people were killed in blasts Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy blamed on terrorists based in Bangladesh or Pakistan. New Delhi has sent extra police and special bomb detection equipment to Hyderabad

Be safe. God bless

Why I hate Journalist who do a bad job / The dirt war on religion

"In a scathing attack on Christians, Swami Kripalanandji of Giri Parampara in Tripura alleged thatmissionaries were behind extremist activities in the Northeast states and that there were 19 outfits conducting activities in the region, mainly targeting Hindus. ``Those who refuse to convert are tortured or killed,'' he alleged. ``In the past few years, more than 18 Vaishnav ashrams run by Hindus in Tripura have been demolished by the Christians, while those who dominate the upper classes, force people to adopt Christianity,'' he asserted.

The saint also denied any Government support and said that the Communist Government in Tripura offered no help to them. And while it was impossible for Hindus to live in Kohima, laborers in the tea gardens there have to follow the diktat of the missionaries. Apart from that, in Mizoram, where the Christians are the majority, 35,000 were ostracized from their caste for not adopting Christianity."

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. And this is why I hate reporters who do a bad job. Well mr.journalist-man let me point something to you:

  • First thing is, there aren't that many Hindus among the Mizos to be "ostracized".
  • Secondly, the few devotees who are in Mizoram (mostly people who come from outside the state) live in harmony with the local people. One great example is, there is a Big Hindu temple next to a Christian minister (Member of Legislature) and here every important Hindu festivals are conducted.
I have seen in many instances that people throw dirt at the North-Eastern states of the country just because they don't know whats in there. If I were asked to comment on this report, I would definitely say this reporter is either very lazy OR he is pro-hinduism!!

Why do we have to fight with dirt. Lets take pillows instead!!!

Indian Govt use Air Power against its own people

Aizawl, Mar 5: Today marks the 41st anniversary of the historic Aizawl bombardment, which had turned the once-beautiful hill town Aizawl into ashes, a few days after the declaration of the “Mizoram independence” by the Laldenga-led Mizo National Front.

It is politically incorrect to use air forces to suppress insurgencies of its own people. Such is the work of the late Indira. But ironically after 40 years of the incident and after signing a peace accord with the then govt, the Mizo people are now living in one of the most peaceful state of the country. The people, happy being apart of the country.
